visual kei

I listen to a wide variety and genre(s) of songs, but my favourite has to be visual kei, nonetheless. Have been listening to visual kei for almost 10 years already, even if i may start listening to other songs, i’ll always go back to playing the same old vkei songs over and over again, never getting sick of it. Not catching up with the new vkei bands that come out.. still listening to the same old bands. the bands and songs that grew up with me.

My top 10 favourite visual kei bands of all times:

1. DIR EN GREY

Favourite song: Ain’t afraid to Die (2001)

2. X Japan
Favourite song: Tears (1996)

3. Malice Mizer (gackt era)
Favourite song: Au Revoir (1997)

4. Luna Sea
Favourite song: I for You (1998)

5. L`Arc~en~Ciel
Favourite song: Finale (2000)

6. Schwarz Stein
Favourite song: Transient (2003)

Transient - Schwarz Stein

7. Onmyouza 陰陽座 (ok actually they’re considered heavy metal instead of visual kei, but nvm)
Favourite song: tsuki ni murakumo hana ni kaze月に叢雲花に風 (2001)

8. Nightmare
Favourite song: Varuna (2004)

9. the GazettE ガゼット

10. Malice Mizer (klaha era)

Favourite song: Saikai no chi to bara再会の血と薔薇 (2000)

X, X Japan,Yoshiki, Luna Sea, Violet UK, hide with spread beaver, Sugizo and TSYJ etc…. LOL

I’m stumbled upon Onmyouza a few months ago while looking up Dir en grey videos on youtube, and I’ve been stuck listening to them non-stop ever since… definitely a great band.

In fact, now that I think about it, that’s how I found this website: I was looking at an Onmyouza fan group on facebook and saw “Kaori Lolita” with the purple hair in the member list, and I thought “that’s a weird name, maybe it’s one of those celebrity profiles for some J-pop star I’ve never heard of.” A google search later, and I ended up here. XD
